Celebrities are always under public scrutiny. That’s the price to pay for fame. This includes having the world know how much you owe the IRS. Celebrities in trouble with Uncle Sam include Chris Tucker, Lauryn Hill, Solange and Dionne Warwick.
Dionne Warwick’s dispute with the IRS has been ongoing over the last few years. The veteran singer even filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy protection in 2013 in a bid to avoid paying overdue taxes to the tune of $6 million, according to IRS records. Ms. Warwick’s contention is that since she is under bankruptcy and her taxes were old, she is not obligated to pay up.
But the IRS is having none of it. In fact, Uncle Sam has one more ace up its sleeve to collect from Ms. Warwick.
