www.krgv.com — The Hidalgo County Appraisal District continues to get inundated with calls and complaints from people upset over the increase in property taxes.
Officials say an influx of Mexican nationals into the region may be contributing to that increase.
Many Mexican nationals are fleeing their country because of the ongoing violence. Some are settling in Hidalgo County. Those people are purchasing homes and businesses. That helps boost the region’s economy, but it also hurts local property owners.
