Most of what you've read online about IRS problems is wrong, or at least misleading. I'm Darrin Mish. I practice tax law in Tampa and I've been doing this for 32 years. Here's what's actually true.

Thirteen people have been indicted by a Federal Grand Jury for allegedly being involved in a tax refund scam to cheat the government of more than $340,000 in fraudulent refunds.  The Grand Jury charged the thirteen individuals aged between 26 and 47 on 30 counts of conspiring to defraud the government through false tax refund claims between February 2009 and March 2012.

The charges are that the conspirators stole the identities and Social Security numbers of taxpayers and filed fake income tax returns containing false information of wages and employment details.
