Mike Sorrentio, a reality show TV star, has been accused of tax fraud.

Mike and his brother Mac, were both indicted and charged with filing false tax returns to the tune of $8.9 million. Mike’s attorney removed himself from the case, claiming that Mike was no longer able to pay for his legal services. Mike, claiming that he simply can’t afford the payments, is presently searching for another tax attorney.

Fraudulent tax filing is on the rise. Almost 1500 cases were investigated by the IRS in 2015. This constituted a 66 percent surge over 2014.
