I just ran across this short video of an interview with Republican Presidential candidate, John McCain. He talks about simplifying the tax code and what steps he is willing to take to get it done. He won’t endorse a flat tax (he’s not brave enough for that) but he does seem like he’s willing to move in the right direction. Very briefly he even talks about the abolishment of the IRS, then slips back into politician doublespeak. What worries me about this interview is that he keeps talking about a commission to study the problem. Isn’t that what government does? They study the problem without ever coming up with a solution. Next I’ll try to find an interview with Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul. From what I understand, there’s a man with a plan. He advocates getting rid of the income tax and the IRS altogether! Here’s the John McCain interview:
