The IRS is looking at years 2007 through 2009. The IRS has yet to impose penalties and Coca-Cola believe the IRS\u2019s assessment is beyond merit.<\/p>\n At the heart of the matter is the IRS\u2019s belief that too many companies act to shield profits from U.S. taxes. Coca-Cola is not the only major corporation fighting the IRS. Microsoft and Amazon.com Inc. have their own storms to weather. <\/span><\/p>\n You can expect that this will be an ongoing thing with the IRS and major corporations. The IRS seems to be revving up its attempts to gain more control over companies that stash money in what it believes to be tax havens.<\/p>\n
