Most of what you've read online about IRS problems is wrong, or at least misleading. I'm Darrin Mish. I practice tax law in Tampa and I've been doing this for 32 years. Here's what's actually true.<\/p>\n

www.cpapracticeadvisor.com \u2014 The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has taken significant actions to improve the processing of tax-exempt applications involving political intervention, according to a new report from the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA).<\/p>\n

The report is a follow-up to a May 2013 TIGTA report, which found that ineffective IRS management resulted in: 1) the use of inappropriate criteria to identify for review organizations applying for tax-exempt status based on names and policy positions instead of indications of political campaign intervention; 2) substantially delayed processing of certain applications, and, 3) the issuance of unnecessary information requests.<\/p>\n
