Today is tax day<\/a>, the day you have to pay up your taxes to Uncle Sam. \u00a0You might be feeling a little poorer now but if it’s any consolation, the taxes you pay is pittance compared to what some companies are forking out. \u00a0These corporate giants are paying effective tax rates of above 60%. \u00a0Who are these companies? \u00a0Some of them are all too familiar to us – online auctioneer eBay, data center operator Equinix among others.<\/p>\n

But the one that takes the cake is Anadarko Petroleum (APC). \u00a0Believe it or not, the\u00a0oil and gas explorer and producer paid a mind blowing 2,994% effective tax rate for 2014. \u00a0How could a company pay so much in taxes, you might ask. \u00a0Well, read on about the companies that paid the largest tax bills<\/a>.<\/p>\n
